Michelle Nicolini (Multiple time Black Belt IBJJF World Champion) Teaching a Women ONLY Seminar
BJJ black belt, East Coast Martial Arts head instructor, and 2x ADCC veteran Rick Macauley stopped into Fifty/50 to teach a seminar on his front headlock and guillotine series. As a special treat, he also promoted his old friend, Brian Johnson, to a well-deserved purple belt.
Though he is well-known for his great success with the deep half guard and leg submissions, Rick is equally proficient with his front headlock and guillotine attacks. Rick covered attacking from the top and bottom of the half guard, passing with the guillotine, and controlling an opponent from the feet while guiding them into some unorthodox choking grips to get the finish. With the big part that wrestling plays at Fifty/50, we’re sure the students who were fortunate enough to make it down will show a great improvement in their games. Thanks, Rick!
After the seminar, Rick promoted an old training partner (from Balance Jiu-Jitsu in PA) and current Fifty/50 student, Brian Johnson. Brian has been in the game for a long time and after a few years of layoff, he started back up at Fifty/50. He has shown a great deal of improvement all around, but particularly in his passing and back attack game. A well-deserved increase in rank for a dedicated and valuable gym member. Way to go, Brian!
