Kenny Savercool and Ryan Hall take home gold medals from the Grapplers Quest “Beast of the East” in preparation for the Pan Ams in April…

Caldwell, NJ
3/20/10

Continuing their winning streaks in the gi, Ryan and Kenny won two matches apiece in a pre CBJJ Pan American tune-up. Kenny took 1st in the blue belt superfeatherweight class, winning his first match 4-2 and finishing things off with a choke from the back in the final.

Ryan defeated his first opponent, Jason Scully (Lloyd Irvin), with an ezekiel choke after sweeping and taking the back to earn a spot in the final. There, against Emanuel DeJesus (Shaolin), Ryan nearly landed a kneebar in the opening seconds, but his skillful opponent was able to escape. From there, though, Ryan was able to sweep, force his opponent to turn to the knees with a pressure pass, take the back, and finish with the RNC for gold and his forth-consecutive Grapplers Quest brown belt title.

Congratulations to both competitors and good luck to the entire Fifty/50 team as they prepare for the first major tournament of the competition season!
