Training for the CBJJ Pan American tournament winds down this weekend as 3 high-level black belts AND more combined International medals than you can shake a stick at gather at Fifty/50 for final preparations.
Getting together for the final full practice session before the CBJJ Pan American tournament the following weekend, Fifty/50′s competitors were fortunate to work with two visiting black belts, David Jacobs (Yamasaki) and Michelle Nicolini (Checkmat), as well as newly-promoted purple belt, Firas Al-Barzinji (Synergy). Focusing on cardiovascular conditioning, drilling, situational sparring, and strategy, everyone was able to sweat out the last few pounds while working hard to sharpen their games. After training, a quick technique Q & A/brainstorming session with the three black belts (Dave, Michelle, and Ryan) cleaned up any leftover questions.
We’d like to offer a huge “thank you” to Michelle and Dave for coming in to work with the guys. We’re extremely grateful to have access to such knowledgeable Jiu-Jitsu fighters, particularly at a time like this, and we’re sure that their influence will make a really positive impact on next weekend’s performances. Good luck to all the Fifty/50 competitors (as well as Michelle, Dave, and Firas, of course) as they head into the first major tournament of the year!
