Tim Koren Wins 3 Divisions at NAGA Virginia Beach

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010 @ 1:34 am

Purple belt Tim Koren goes undefeated and submits all but one of his opponents.

Looking to build off of his learning experience at the Mundial, Tim Koren wasted no time in getting back onto the competition mats. Showing a new level of aggressiveness, Tim submitted both of his opponents in the Advanced lightweight division, braboing the first and finishing the final with a 50/50 heel hook.

In a round-robin Men’s Purple Belt lightweight division, Tim avenged an old loss from blue belt by single legging his opponent and passing the guard to take a 5-2 victory. His opponent went on to defeat the other competitor in the division, leaving Tim with the gold.

Jumping into a shallow 2-man Masters Purple Belt division for an additional match, Tim finished the day off by single legging his opponent, passing the guard, and securing a kimura armlock for the win and the gold medal.

Round-up:
Men’s Advanced Lightweight- Gold
Men’s Purple Belt Lightweight- Gold
Masters Purple Belt Lightweight- Gold

All in all not a bad day’s work and Tim will look to build off of this performance going forward as he looks to the CBJJ no-gi tournaments later in the year.
