Ryan Hall by TKO

Head Instructor Ryan Hall defeats Phillip Deschambeault by TKO in round 1 of Interbox’s SLAMM-1 professional mixed martial arts show in Montreal, Quebec.

Read on for more details…

Competing in professional mixed martial arts for the first time in over 6 years, Ryan Hall made a successful return to the cage as he defeated his more experienced opponent, Phillip Deschambeault (4-6) via technical knockout at 1:41 of the first round.

After an initial striking exchange, Ryan ducked under Deschambeault’s lead hook, attacked a single leg, and took his opponent’s back almost immediately. After threatening with a rear naked choke, Ryan flattened his opponent out and landed numerous punches and elbows until the referee called a stop to the contest.

Ryan’s teammates from Tristar Gym, Aiemann Zahabi (TKO), Mandel Nallo (TKO), Olivier Aubin-Mercier (RNC), and Alex Garcia (RNC) all went on to first round victories, as well.

A huge “thank you” to Firas Zahabi and Ivan Menjivar for cornering Ryan during the fight and to all the coaches and athletes at Tristar in Montreal for their training and guidance in preparation for SLAMM. Ryan will be competing again in early 2013 after resting for the Holiday Season.
