Tim Koren takes gold at Copa Nova!
Newly promoted purple belt, Tim Koren, defeats all his opponents to take home gold in the Men’s Advanced Lightweight and Purple Belt Lightweight divisions at the Copa Nova.
Tim defeated three opponents (including Pan Am bronze medallist Parker Conner and no-gi Pan Am champion, Lenny Maggio of Team Lloyd Irvin) en route to taking the gold in the Advanced Lightweight, punctuating things with a 36-0 first round victory. In the Purple Belt division, Tim utilized a strong passing game to come out on top 10-5 against a very experienced opponent in Adrian Rumigan of Yamasaki, who has been a purple belt for years and recently took bronze at the Pan American Championship.
