In Los Angeles, CA, Ryan Hall wins his weight class and the most important title of the day–the Absolute (open weight) Class, submitting each of his opponents in rapid succession. In the final of the Absolute, he faced off against the talented Milton Bastos (Paragon Jiu-Jitsu), who would win the Mundial, No-Gi Mundial, and Pan American Championships at the brown belt level that year.
