Balance/Hasset Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Rick Macauley, took a break from teaching at his new academy (East Coast MMA) to stop by Fifty/50 to train for the weekend in preparation for Abu Dhabi later this year. Rick is a 2-time ADCC veteran and one of the most accomplished professional no-gi competitors in the United States. Also visiting was Anahi Baca, an extremely experienced female purple belt who has been involved in BJJ for as long as almost anyone in the US.

Fifty/50 BJJ Hosts Women’s Open Mat

The women’s locker room at the Sport and Health© in Ballston Common Mall (Arlington, VA) this Sunday afternoon was as crowded as after work on a Monday evening. But instead of pulling running shoes out of their gym bags, these women pulled out Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gis!
