Quinn is a Black Belt and UFC veteran who recently moved to Virginia from Albuquerque, New Mexico to further hone his Jiu-Jitsu game under Ryan while assisting in the daily running of the academy. He brings with him a wealth of martial arts experience gained training with and competing against some of the best Jiu-Jitsu and MMA athletes in the world. In addition to holding a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu under the Gracie Barra lineage, Quinn is an accomplished competitive grappler and successful MMA fighter with the Jackson-Wink team who fought in both Strikeforce and the UFC on the way to compiling an impressive professional MMA record of 18-4.
Quinn started training Jiu-Jitsu in 2002 with Claudio França in Santa Cruz California. In 2004 he ended up in Santa Fe New Mexico for college, and started to train at Santa Fe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Alberto Crane. During his time there, Quinn earned 5 medals medals on the International Jiu-Jitsu circuit.
In 2005 Quinn entered his first MMA event, subbing in for an injured teammate and subsequently decided to make professional fighting a career. During his MMA career, Quinn won the King of the Cage Welterweight title before fighting for Strikeforce and then the UFC.
